The Coloplast Online Training portal offers a range of bladder and bowel care clinical programmes.
The aim of these packages is to support personal development and to increase standards of care within the clinical practice environment. Each training programme is made up of four modules that address the following subject areas:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Clinical Assessment and Disease & Condition Management
- Troubleshooting
- Clinical Teaching and Case Study Review
The programmes are open to registered nurses, healthcare assistants and student nurses wishing to acquire greater knowledge and skill in bladder and bowel management.
The online courses available through the Coloplast Academy include:
Promotion of Continence in Adults
This course provides insight into the role of healthcare professionals in the promotion of urinary continence in adults. The course takes around 2 hours and is aimed at ward and community based staff.
Principles of Intermittent Self Catheterisation
This course has been developed as a training tool to support healthcare professionals gain an understanding of the principles of teaching patients intermittent self catheterisation. The course takes around 1 hour to complete and is aimed at nurses and other healthcare professionals who are teaching patients.
Principles of Peristeen Anal Irrigation
This course has been developed as a training tool to support healthcare professionals gain an understanding of the principles of Peristeen Anal irrigation. The course takes 1 hour to complete and is aimed at nurses and other healthcare professionals wanting to expand their knowledge around bowel management and anal irrigation.
